Fantastic to share the Inscape story with ABC. Thanks to Fiona Blackwood and the team for joining us on a typical day in the hospital and for the musicians and artists who are so good at what you do. Read the article here.
Will was stoked to take the music trolley on its maiden voyage through the corridors of the hospital a few days ago.
Inscape artist Jenny Masters painted a beautiful tribute picture for Wendy from Ward 5A. It depicts her beloved horse and dog, Carlton Beach which is her favourite place, and as is Jenny’s style, some special extras that made Wendy feel that the artwork was truly a reflection of who she is. When gifted to her she cried with joy and said ‘It’s beautiful’ and ‘Thank you’. She said ‘It made my day’.
How exciting to have our new music trolley delivered by artist, Nick Maxwell and his son Bodhi. We are so grateful to Nick who created this beautifully crafted work of art as well as the Tasmanian Community Fund for making this dream for Inscape come true. Our musicians can’t wait to push it along the corridors with all our instruments to the bedsides of patients at the Royal Hobart Hospital. #nickmaxwell #inscape#instrumental
Shelley Cusiter and Will Parsell have been spending time on the paediatric ward. Here is Shelley (right) with Andrea Allen the Play Specialist who supports us to work with kids and teenagers bringing song, dance and joy to their bedside. Thank you Andrea for the wonderful work you do and for making our work a success in your area.
For the first time our musicians visited Peacock 1, a sub-acute care unit at the Repatriation Hospital. Annie and Will Parsell performed in the multi-purpose room and at the bedside of some appreciative music lovers, including Catherine who loved to hear Annie sing ‘Tell me ma’ a traditional Irish song and a reminder of her Irish heritage. #instrumental #inscape#musicinhospitals
